The Story So Far

Rival Order is an American melodic death metal band. The group is composed of musicians residing in California, New York and England. Band members collaborate over the internet and record in their own studios, sharing audio stems using cloud storage services during the songwriting process. 

In 2019, Joey Rival set out to bring together a group of musicians to bring his songs to life. He assembled a team of musicians starting with lead vocalist Chris Clancy (Mutiny Within), whose range includes melodic singing and guttural death growls. Joey chose lead guitarist Pat Reilly (Tengger Cavalry, Fellahin Fall) after hearing his expressive playing and session work. To fill out the rhythm section, Joey recruited drummer Kurt Holtz and bassist Lou Hannoe. 

The band released a few cover songs and an EP, and had already begun tracking a second EP when Holtz quit the band in 2020, leaving the new record in limbo. In a surprise turn of events, Megadeth drummer Dirk Verbeuren agreed to play drums on the record. The first single, 'Next In Line', Released on all major streaming services April 23rd 2021 with great success. 

As the music started to release and the search for a replacement for Kurt was under way, many attempts to fill the spot went unanswered. Faced with an unexpected connection through social media, Adam West was discovered. Adam fit the bill in every aspect, from talent to personality. Officially joining in May 2021 Rival Order welcomes drummer Adam West with much excitement and big plans for the future of the group.
